Haiti Man TrappedLast Thursday, Shirley Golding, member of our Trinity Lutheran Church, who has only recently (23. Sep 2009 to 31. Oct 2009, and also in November 2008) been working as interim Finance Manager for the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) in Haiti, was able to contact the LWF Director in Haiti, Sylvia Raulo over Skype. A copy of Shirley's conversation can be accessed here, or at the Australian Lutheran World Service website

"If anyone is in a position to donate to the appeal for the Haiti earthquake I can direct you to the following website:

Australian Lutheran World Service will send the donations to the LWF in Haiti. LWF Haiti is coordinating the relief work for what is called the ACT Alliance (Action By Churches Together). I can assure everyone that all donations will reach Haiti. There is a minimum of administration costs – but by the same token there does need to be proper accountability and this also requires careful monitoring by people with the proper expertise."
